Leon Daniels, £25m Later....Chaos

Leon Daniels stated, "The return of two way traffic at Elephant and Castle, will transform it to a place people want to be".

New traffic systems, plus the segregated cycle lanes have bought London to virtual gridlock. The situation has become so bad that Metropolitan Police Armed Response Officers will be arriving at incidents on the back of motorbikes. Every day, we see emergency services stuck in the gridlock surrounding the Cycle Supper Highway.

Badly thought out systems are seeing journey lengths increased in time and distance as vehicles are banned from no left turns/ no right turns at certain junctions. Westbound traffic along the embankment wishing to use Westminster Bridge, now have to travel an extra quarter of a mile, plus bringing more traffic and more pollution through Parliament Square. All because cyclists can't be trusted to cross the road properly with other right turning vehicles at the bridge junction.

Preventable deaths in London caused by pollution from traffic emissions has risen sharply in parallel with the new cycle lanes, from 8,000 to 10,000 per annum.

Traffic is set to get a lot worse as both Westminster and Islington Councils plan to take two major roads away from motorist. Tottenham Court Road is to become buses and bikes only. Taxis and private cars are to be diverted into Gower Street (already gridlocked most of the day) which will become two way.

But the system that will effect the traffic most of all, is the pedestrianisation of Oxford Street. Oxford street looks for most of the day and night like a bus garage, full of stationary, empty buses. Where are all these buses supposed to go?

Figures showed that on the day I the last bus strike, pollution levels around the Oxford Street area, dropped dramatically by an amazing 50%.

What is the cause of this chaos?
Hundreds of empty (subsidised) buses - blame TfL
Cycle (super) highways - blame TfL
100,000 licensed private hire - blame TfL

Who are TfL accountable to?.......NOBODY

What is the cost?
Premature deaths.
450 plus people in TfL earning £100k plus pa.
Millions and millions of pounds in lost time and business for all Londoners

What is the answer?

It is the ONLY answer!

Well they've succeeded. i now wish to sell my cab, if i can and leave london. As a born, bred East Londoner, i enjoyed our city, never felt that way before, but, that's how they've made me feel.

No doubt that's the intention with all the excrement they've thrown, whilst favouring their pet favourite you know who!

Shame i couldn't have numerous telephone calls & personal visits with the TFL privileged few, as did you know who. But, then, we're just hard working tax paying, over regulated, law abiding, non violent, stakeholding, individuals, who get no respect or consideration, only lip service, deciet, lies.

haven't the authorities always excreted over the working men, women of our nation, and they still continue to do so to this very day.

Doubt they'll miss or care that i wish to leave, as now they have a multitude of their multi culti project to do and take away the work of british indiginous peoples. whilst mocking us at same time.

The only offering i can give you, is that it doesn't always go the way they planned. As in the mid 15th century, when the aristocracy had an iron grip upon all and sundry, people were merely serfs, the land was all but owned by the aristocracy.

All of a sudden, along came the plagues and wiped out huge numbers of the workers, as well as the gentry (regardless how pure they think they are, they were not immune). Which altered the entire landscape within a short period. The landed gentry had to rethink and give their slaves greater freedom, better incomes, and a little more respect or they would simply take their labour to the Lord down the road.

Now all we need is a little out break of the plague or similar in those third world nations and the British elitist entitlement classes would be totally shafted. After all how would the manage with out their cheap builder, nanny, cleaners, drivers, or coffee erver. must be difficult not having to do it all yourself?

Just thought i'd impart that piece of info.

Are these people as qualified as you black cab drivers are on the streets of London?

Do they know every street as you do?

Why dont they consult with the trade and iron out any forseen issues before they implement the actions ?
