Good News For Electric Taxis? Nissan Leaf, Got An Upgrade This Week, Unveiling A European Range Of 235 Miles

The world's best selling electric car, the Nissan Leaf, got an upgrade this week

Unveiling a European range of 235 miles on a single battery charge, and new self driving features such as assisted parking.

This really could pour water onto the London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) TX plug in replacement of the TX4, with its limited 70 mile range, as drives hold back waiting for similar upgrades.

The question now is, will this new technology bring the Nissan e-NV200 Taxi Of Tomorrow -which is based on the Nissan Leaf model- back into the equation for the London market, when new rules come into force in January next year?

Only electric Taxis capable of near zero emissions, qwill be licensed by TfL.

1) How much does it cost .
2) what is the life expectancy of the battery .
3)How long does it take to fully charge the battery .
All questions that must be asked before it can be considered viable .

This is all completely irrelevant, it has been predicted by the boffins in studies that Uber will wipe out the traditional black taxis. I would say that is very true upon looking at the facts and with TFL and the government attitudes.

When there's no-one to pick up what's the difference what piece of shit you drive.

What planet do these morons come from ??
And after ten hours sitting on batteries your gonna glow in the dark.
After two years your be like radioactive.
That's if you live that long.

What is the point? Get out of the trade now while you can still sell a taxi at a price.

£60k - it's another way of getting rid of us. Drivers surely won't fall for this financial suicide .Rentals of circa £320pw, finance north of £1,000 per month on a £100 per day if you're lucky
