NEWS FLASH: Verifone apologises to Taxi drivers for insulting article in LTDA Taxi paper...by Jim Thomas

Verifone have today issued an apology on social media, after drivers complained about a defamatory article carried in the latest edition of the LTDA's Taxi paper.

Drivers were accused in an article on page 24, authored by VeriFone's Ben Priestley, of "keeping their precise earnings a secret with no record of what you make for the tax man"

Many drivers have made their own protest over this insult by refusing to use Verifone to process credit card payments and have covered up their in cab appliance.

To stop an escalation of the driver revolt, Verifone issued this apology on Twitter just before midday.

Not to be out done, the a LTDA finally puts out an admission that the article should never have gone out.
This was posted on Twitter around 6:40pm tonight.

Personally I think it's too late to withdraw their comment, the damage has been done. once again don't it make you sick another comment about our trade from someone who knows nothing about it. I hope everyone in the trade stops using verifone for card payments.

How did this article get published in the first place?
Doesn't the editor read the adverts he authorises.

I think his resignation would be a start.
I certainly won't be picking up another copy if Taxi in the near future!

Why should the editor of taxi apologise? Maybe he gave Verifone just enough rope to hang themselves with! Ha bloody ha!

I'm another one that won't be picking up another copy of Taxi Newspaper - nor their supplement The Badge, which advertises brothels that use sex slaves!!!

Oh I get it now
The reason Grunt Davis won't talk to the RMT is because he was exposed by one of the RMTs members for advertising a brothel, in Euston that was nicked and closed down for using illegal immigrant sex slaves.

Nasty business, the club should have known better than to advertise these establishments just to raise a bit if stand down pay.

These girls are some ones daughters who have unfortunately been duped into coming to this country for a better life style, only to be dragged into the dark world of drugs and the sex trade by organised crime bosses.

The LCDC should carry a full page apology for this disgusting legacy.

At least Bob Oddy made a donation to the Havens rape crisis centre of 10,000 after the Warboys case hit the headlines
Perhaps the club should also make a substantial donation.

No donations or apologies will be made by Grant Davis as he has no moral compass.

Steve B are you a member of the RMT?

No I'm proud to be a member of the LTDA
who were honourable enough to admit their mistake unlike the club who carried on taking blood money

Now stop it, stop it now, this is getting rather silly, always having a dig at the LCDC!!! You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

Just sit back and think of all the good things that the LCDC have done for the trade....

Can't think of anything at the moment.

What the incident in regent Street shows is that the authorities view the cab trade as impotent.

We have the odd demo, partake in a lot of 'Lord Mayoring' and that's about it.

TfL have a board member right inside the trade who seems never to speak out.
The trade is kept divided by promises of jam tomorrow and veiled threats. We are putty in their hands.

The Paris taxi trade would not put up with any of this, our motto is 'well what can you '
